Founded in 1933, Canal Barge Company, Inc., is a privately-owned, independent marine transportation company headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana. Our greatest strength is in understanding our customers’ requirements, bringing customized solutions, and providing best-in-class service. Our core operations are on the Inland Waterways System of the United States, and we also operate internationally through our oceangoing deck barge fleet.
We have a successful track record of developing long-term and mutually profitable partnerships with major companies in the refining, petrochemical, power generation, oilfield service, construction, and materials industries. With our tank barges, we transport liquid cargoes such as lube oils, petrochemicals, and feedstocks. We move products such as petroleum coke, coal, and crushed stone with our hoppers and specialty oversized cargo with our deck barges.
